Childhood obesity is a serious problem in the United States, putting children and adolescents at higher risk for health problems that can become serious. According to the WHO, the number of obese infants and children from ages 0 to 5 years increased from 32 million globally in 1990 to 41 million by the year 2016. Dr. Yolanda Spraggins is a Galen physician specializing in pediatrics. Dr. Chris Lowe is a board-certified dermatologist at Galen Dermatology. He’s always enjoyed science and helping others, so medicine was a natural fit for him career wise. Dr. Lowe received his MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and went on to complete an internship with Madigan Army Medical Center, followed by his dermatology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Dr. Lowe joined the Galen team in 2019, but has been practicing dermatology full time since 2013.
