Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Shawn Reuss, RN, MSN, WHNP-BC is a Cleveland, Tennessee native, a graduate of Cleveland High School and Lee University. Growing up, she always enjoyed science, medicine, and the human body. To her, nursing provides excellent opportunities in all areas of the medical field. Therefore, she pursued a master’s in nursing through Vanderbilt University and specialized in Women’s Health, as she felt strongly that this was her passion. She believes “OBGYN is special because it allows you to help nurture and empower women of all ages to take the best care of their bodies at any given point in their lifespan.” She loves talking with younger girls about all aspects of their lives to help them navigate choices both medical and non-medical.
Shawn spent the first year of her career working as an RN in the Mother/Baby Unit in Richmond, VA and then spent three years in private practice OBGYN working as a Nurse Practitioner in Fredericksburg, VA. Once Shawn and her husband started a family, they decided to make the move back to Cleveland where she found a job working for the Hamilton County Health Department in the Family Planning Clinic for three years before starting at Galen in 2015. Working at Galen has been the highlight of her career as she thoroughly enjoys taking care of women’s health. She feels fortunate and proud to work for Galen and being a part of a group that takes good care of patients.
In her free time, she likes to be outdoors with her husband and extremely active sons. They enjoy hiking, being on the lake, and traveling together. When she gets free time to herself, she loves to spend it reading.
