Specialist in Vascular Surgery
Brett Burns grew up in Rossville, Georgia, and graduated from Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School in 2005. He then attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in music Performance. Brett continued his education at Dalton State College where he earned his Associate Degree in Nursing, and later obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After this, he returned to UTC to earn a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Brett began working as a Nurse Practitioner in August 2023. He always wanted to pursue a career in science that allowed him to help others. He loves having the chance to help others with their health and improve their quality of life. Brett chose a specialty in vascular surgery because it offers the chance to address a wide variety of issues through both medical management and surgical intervention. He believes in treating patients with the same kindness and respect that he would want for himself. His care philosophy is to carefully listen to his patients and give them the utmost respect to provide the best possible care.
Brett’s perfect day off would be spent enjoying quality time with his wife, Kayla, and son, Max. Together they enjoy exploring theme parks and the wide range of activities Chattanooga has to offer. When Brett isn’t at work or with his family, he also enjoys playing the drums.
